Mr & Mrs Vasel

SEPTEMBER 28, 2019

There is always this extra feeling of pressure when you are photographing a wedding for a wedding vendor. Molly is a videographer AND her sister/MOH is a photographer! But not to my surprise, everyone made me feel so valued and appreciated all day (and all the days after!!) What’s amazing, though, is that all the decisions and vendors that were chosen for this day were seriously magical. The florals, the venue, the timeline, everything.

Something unexpected that Molly & Darren had to face was a tough decision when there were calls from multiple guests who said they wouldn’t make it in time due to an accident on the main highway to get to the venue. Even though they knew pushing their ceremony time back would cause us to not have as much time for sunset portraits, they cared more about their family and friends seeing them get married. I 100% backed this decision and applauded them for it! Because at the end of the day, this is about getting two people, who are in love, MARRIED. And honestly, because they chose to do a first look, they were already going to get SO many portraits!! Just another reason to do a first look, you never know what may happen!

Something during their ceremony that really touched me was their unity ceremony of the fight box. In case you haven’t seen this before, it’s a wine box that the bride & groom put letters they wrote each other into and then lock the box. Then, as their officiant so gracefully stated, when they get into their first spirited discussion, they are to open up the box, read their letters and have some wine together. What got me the most behind this unity though was the fact that they walked over together to the table with the cross behind it. This act of them going to the cross is something that I find so symbolic. I promise you, Molly & Darren, you will find yourself at the cross more now in marriage than ever before. Go there together, meditate there together, and Jesus will give you rest.

Your wedding was beautiful, the celebration was perfect, and I’m so excited to watch you two grow together in this adventure of being husband & wife! Thank you for trusting me with your day.

Those just married feelings!
